Resist the Temptation- The objective of the game is to resist the temptation just like Jesus did.

Directions- The objective of the game is to resist the temptation just like Jesus did. Place your markers on the “START” square. The players roll the die and move that number on the board. The players follow the directions on the square they landed on. Two or more may share one square at a time. If they land on a “Temptation” space, the player draws a Temptation card and reads it out loud. (If they cannot read, someone else can read it for them). On each card is a temptation situation that the player must answer how they would resist the temptation by telling what they should do. If they answer correctly, they move ahead two. If they are not correct and do not resist temptation, they are “Grounded” and lose a turn next time around. The first player to FINISH wins. Random Acts of Kindness (file folder game)

Jesus was always kind and helpful to the people he met. Jesus showed his love by caring for those who needed his healing touch. The next time you want to let someone know how much you care for them, remember that we show others we care, not just by sending flowers and gifts, but by showing acts of kindness each and every day -- just like Jesus did.

Random Acts of Kindness: Children identify Random Acts of Kindness as they move around the board.




Place your marker any where on the game board. Roll the die and move clockwise that many spaces. Read out loud whatever is on your space and say whether it is a Random Act of Kindness or not. If it is a Random Act of Kindness, receive 1 Random Acts of Kindness token (or milk cap, poker chip, etc.). If it is not a Random Act of Kindness, lose a token. When the player receives 10 Random Acts of Kindness tokens, they work their way around the board to “Spread Kindness”. Players must roll the exact number to “Spread Kindness”. Continue playing to find out who comes in second, third, fourth, etc. place.

The Prophets Game: The object of the game is to be the first player to go from square number 1 to square number 80. Age 5 to adult.


Need:

Playing piece for each player
1 die
Question Cards
Game Board


Set Up: Place your game pieces near square number one. Shuffle the deck and place it face down in a small basket near the game board. Put an empty basket nearby for the discards.


Rules: Basically the game is like Chutes and Ladders. Roll the die and move the corresponding number of squares. Each player gets one roll each turn. If you land on a square with an arrow on it, follow the arrow to where it ends. Arrows can go up or down. If you land on a prophet square, the person on your right picks up a Question Card and reads it out loud (if they cannot read it, someone else can read it for them). On each card is a question about a prophet from the Bible. If you answer correctly, you get to take an extra turn. If not, the game moves on to the next player. (For younger students they do not have to answer a question, they get to take an extra turn.) The first player to square #80 is the winner. You must land there by exact count. If your roll takes you past square #80, don’t move. Try again on your next turn.

Pride (file folder game)

Pride File Folder Game: Land on a space that says PRIDE and identify whether the situation is about pride or being humble. Land on a Peacock picture you tell about a time you were full of pride. Land on a Humble Pie picture you must tell about a time you were humble.


Introduction: Write a PRIDE on the board. Say: Pride is a feeling of superiority. This haughty attitude is shown by someone who believes they are greater than, more important, more deserving, or more qualified than anyone else. This arrogance deceives us and tries to make us believe that we do not need God or others and we only need ourselves. Another face of pride is self-righteousness. Self righteousness is setting oneself above others and letting everyone know that they are better than others. It is the belief that says, “My way is right and no other way is right.”

Pride hardens the mind and refuses to hear the wisdom of anyone. It closes us off from others and from God; it rejects all other wisdom. This closed mindedness brings consequences. Rejecting God’s help and direction hinders our spiritual growth, making us less useful to Him. Pride blackens the soul and if it goes unchecked, it can lead to the hardening of the heart that condemns those who refuse to accept anything greater than them.

Potty Mouth: Using the Lord’s name in vain is like fingernails scrapping down a chalkboard. God hears us when we take his name in vain and it must break his heart when his name is used in such a manner. This game focuses on how we sometimes do not have respect for God and God’s name.



Place your marker on START. Players roll the die and move their marker that many spaces indicated on the die. If you land on the picture of a toilet plunger, things have backed up and you must back up 2 spaces. Land on the toilet paper, you lose a turn. If you land on the picture of the toilet brush the player to your left draws a card and reads it out loud. On each card is a question about the 2nd commandment: Thou shall not use the Lord’s name in vain (Catholic). If you answer the question correctly, you stay where you are. If you are not correct, you must move to the urinal for having a potty mouth. On your next turn you are asked another question and you cannot move off the urinal until you answer a question correctly. If you answer a question correctly, you may resume your position on the game board. If a player lands on a picture of a toilet bowel cleaner, they must change places with the player that is positioned last on the game board. The first player to FINISH wins.

The Plagues File Folder Game

The Plagues: The objective of the game is to collect 10 plague cards by answering questions about each plague. The first player with all 10 plague cards, wins.


Directions: Place your marker on the START square. The player rolls the die and moves that many spaces on the board. If the player lands on a space with directions on it, they must follow them. If the player lands on a plague space, the teacher asks them a question from the list about one of the plagues that the person does not have a plague card of. If the player is correct, they collect the corresponding plague card that the question was about (the players place their plague cards face up in front of them so the teacher knows what kind of plague question to ask). If the player is not correct, they do not collect a card. Players must collect a plague card for each plague as they move around the board. Note that the board is set up so you can move around it many times. The first player to collect all 10 plague cards, wins. People of the Bible Game: For 2 Players or 2 Teams. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

A fun and exciting way to learn about the people of the Bible. The players are asked "Who am I?" questions based on increasingly easier clues. More challenging clues earn more points; easier hints win fewer. If you spin a 1 or 4 either “Answer or Sell” the question to an opponent. Spin a 2 or 5 and “Draw A Card” and follow the instructions on the card. Spin a 3 for “Playoff” to take on your opponents in answering the question. Spin a 6 to get a chance to bid on who gets the question. There are 200 Clue Cards. The first player or team to earn 55 points and answer the last question wins!

120 Point Chips (in three different colors)

*You can also use a large circle hole puncher and make your own chips using card stock, craft foam, etc. Poker chips and plastic milk jug caps can be used as well.


Set Up:

Print out Directions. Print out Spinner and cut out. Glue spinner wheel to cardboard and laminate or cover with clear contact paper to make it last. To make a strong and simple spinner, cut it out of a plastic lid. Attach the spinner to the spinner wheel with a brass fastener. Be sure to not fasten the spinner down too tightly so it will spin properly. Print out Clue Card Holder on card stock. Fold Clue Card Holder in half on the line.

*Use these Clue Cards or make your own to make it more personalized. Print Clue Cards out on card stock. Cut out Clue Cards. Laminate or cover with clear contact paper to make them last. Use only the cards that reflect your student’s abilities. There are 200 Clue Cards for you to choose from. Note: Please take in consideration that I am just a Mom and I'm providing these clues to the best of my abilities. I tried to make them as accurate as possible, but I know I probably made a few mistakes and it was not intentional. (Questions taken from a Catholic Bible.)

Who are the people at church? What do they do? Here are a few games for students to learn about the people at church.

People at Church Cards- Show each People at Church Cards to the students and have them identify the person(s) and what they do. (Altar Servers, Cantor, Choir, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeter/Usher, Lector, Musicians, Priest). They can also play Memory or Go Fish with these cards.

If the students need help:

*Give them a clue such as saying out loud the first syllable of the word.

*You can lay all the pictures out and ask a question from below. Have the students point to the person(s) and say what they are called. Have them repeat the word after you say it if necessary.
