2024 Printable Advent Chain
This activity is free, however it is only to be used for classroom and personal use. It may not be published on any websites or other electronic media, or distributed in newsletters, bulletins, or any other form or sold for profit. Reproduction or retransmission of any materials, in whole or in part, in any manner, is not permitted.
Print out pattern on colored paper. Have students cut into strips. Build your paper chain stapling the strips with a stapler in the correct order. Each day you tear off a piece of the chain that corresponds to the date and do the activity. Before you know it, it will be Christmas day!

I used your chain last year from my PREP (CCD) class and it was a huge hit! Thank you for updating it for 2014. I attach the chain to an "advent wreath" that can be hung on a door frame or something high. The wreath is a green paper plate with a coloring sheet of a picture of an advent wreath with candles. When it's time to light a candle, they color in the flame. I got such positive feedback from the parents. Thank you and God bless!

I love making this chain with my class but you're missing a week for 2017

All weeks are posted. This Advent is different than most. It starts December 3 (1st week violet), 2nd week December 10 (violet), 3rd week December 17 (rose), 4th week December 24 (violet), then Christmas Day which is white. I hope this helps.

This is my fifth year teaching fourth grade at a Catholic school. I have had my students make your Advent chain every year and they love it. I would like to suggest that next year you add Dec. 1st and have it read: "Set up or make an Advent wreath with your family." This way it will be already to light the first candle. Merry Christmas.
