Then have them draw pictures of themselves above the name and decorate the plate using the crayons or markers (glitter would add that special touch). Introduce game: Why does Jesus love you?

kidssundayschool.com- A Chair For A Crown
Children play musical chairs for a chance to discover how Jesus loves them. Have the children march around the chairs as you play the song “Jesus Loves Me”. Give the one who does not find a chair a crown to wear while taking a few moments to tell the other children why they believe Jesus loves them. This is for building up their self-esteem, in that they are not "losers" because they did not get a chair, but are special because of Jesus' love.

St. Valentine Game

Introduction to game: What do you know about St. Valentine and St. Valentine’s Day?

Materials- large die, egg timer, questions about St. Valentine and St. Valentine’s Day

Make a die out of a large juice carton girlguides.ca and put a ? mark on some (at least 3) of the sides of the die.

Directions- The objective of the game is to get the most points by answering questions about St. Valentine and St. Valentine’s Day. After studying and discussing this subject, divide the class into teams and have the students come up with questions. Set an egg timer for a specified time. Have a player roll the die on the floor in front of the class. If the die lands on a blank space, they do not answer a question. If the die lands on “?”, they are asked a question by the other player or team. If the player answers correctly, they receive a point (you can use tokens, write it on the board, etc.). If they are not correct, they do not receive a point. Players must collect as many points as they can. The game is over when the egg timer goes off. Whoever has the most points, wins. You can play this game individually or in teams. For an added challenge, you can also have “Lose 1 Point” and “Take 1 Point” on one or a couple of the sides of the die. When a player rolls “Lose 1 Point”, they must lose 1 point. If a player rolls “Take 1 Point”, they may take a point from any player they choose.

Sacrament of Matrimony (file folder game)- Answer different kinds of questions (multiple choice, True or False, Fill in the Blank, or Puzzles) about the Sacrament of Matrimony as you move around the board.

Introduction to game: For Catholics, the sacrament of marriage is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: The loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values.
