7 Deadly Sins File Folder Game

This game is free, however it is only to be used for classroom and personal use. It may not be published on any websites or other electronic media, or distributed in newsletters, bulletins, or any other form or sold for profit. Reproduction or retransmission of any materials, in whole or in part, in any manner, is not permitted. All graphics/images/clipart etc. used on all activities are not my own and are from various internet sources.

7 Deadly Sins File Folder Game: Identify which of the 7 Deadly Sins is depicted in the situation. The player who collects the most tokens, wins.

Directions- Set a timer for a specified time. Put the Game Cards in the blank space near the top of the game board. Place your marker any where on the game board. Each player in turn spins the spinner and moves their marker along the board. They may go forward or backwards or follow any branch of the board they wish, as long as they only go one direction within a turn. This means that you can go forward or backward, but only forward or only backward in a single turn. When a player lands on a space that has a SE7EN on it, the person on their right picks up a Game Card and reads it out loud (if they cannot read it, someone else can read it for them). On each card is a situation that the player must identify which of the 7 Deadly Sins it is about. If the player answers correctly, they receive a token (use the tokens provided or you can use poker chips, milk caps, etc.). If they are not correct, they do not receive a token. If the player spins “Return 1 Token”, they must return one token. If a player spins “Take 1 Token” they may take a token from any player they choose. Players must collect as many tokens as they can as they move around the board. Note that the board is set up so you can move around it many times. The game is over when the timer goes off. Whoever has the most tokens, wins. Players can also play in teams so they can help each other answer the questions.

Pride (file folder game)

Pride File Folder Game: Land on a space that says PRIDE and identify whether the situation is about pride or being humble. Land on a Peacock picture you tell about a time you were full of pride. Land on a Humble Pie picture you must tell about a time you were humble.

Introduction: Write a PRIDE on the board. Say: Pride is a feeling of superiority. This haughty attitude is shown by someone who believes they are greater than, more important, more deserving, or more qualified than anyone else. This arrogance deceives us and tries to make us believe that we do not need God or others and we only need ourselves. Another face of pride is self-righteousness. Self righteousness is setting oneself above others and letting everyone know that they are better than others. It is the belief that says, “My way is right and no other way is right.”

Pride hardens the mind and refuses to hear the wisdom of anyone. It closes us off from others and from God; it rejects all other wisdom. This closed mindedness brings consequences. Rejecting God’s help and direction hinders our spiritual growth, making us less useful to Him. Pride blackens the soul and if it goes unchecked, it can lead to the hardening of the heart that condemns those who refuse to accept anything greater than them.
