Holy Spirit (file folder game)

The following game is free, however it is only to be used for classroom and personal use. It may not be published on any websites or other electronic media, or distributed in newsletters, bulletins, or any other form or sold for profit. Reproduction or retransmission of any materials, in whole or in part, in any manner, is not permitted. All graphics/images/clipart etc. used on all activities are not my own and are from various internet sources.

The Holy Spirit File Folder Game: Work your way around the board and answer questions about the Holy Spirit. For 2nd grade on up. There are a lot of choices and possibilities for this game.

Directions: Place your markers on THE HOLY SPIRIT. Roll the die and move that many spaces. Follow the directions on the space you land on. If you land on a space with a dove on it, the player to your right draws a Game Card and asks you a question about the Holy Spirit (CCC 1813, 1831 & 1832). If you are right, you move ahead one. If you are wrong, you stay there until your next turn to answer another question. You must stay there until you answer a question correctly. Work your way around the board and the player who lands on the picture of the cross with the exact number wins.

I am teaching 5th graders about the trinity tonight and needed something extra to add as an activity. This is perfect! Thank you so much. I was a little nervous as I'm filling in for my husband who usually teaches, but I'm excited to show this to the kids tonight!

You are my new BFF!! I'm doing a presentation on The Holy Spirit on Wednesday to middle schoolers and everything I have/have found is for the fruits and gifts I was about to give up and found this activity from catholic icing!

My mom suggested I make it a "Human boardgame" since we use the gym. We'll see how it goes.

The Catholic Couponer-
I just got back from being out of town and this is the first chance that I had to write back. I am so glad that the game went well with your class. We would love to see what you did on your blog! I would love to link to yours so everyone could see. :)

I know this is an old thread, but I had to share with you. I created this game on a large scale and use it as a way in which to have a human board game. I divide the class into teams, depending on class size. They elect one person as the "board piece" who goes around the board. They can consult with their team, but the "piece" is the one who gives the final answer. Thanks for the idea!

Fr Brian- I'm so glad that you and your students enjoyed the game and adapted it to fit your needs. That's what teaching is all about, creating and allowing your students to learn in the best way possible for them. Keep up the good work! :)
