Have students create a “prayer bank…” provide decorative materials and containers (oatmeal, tissue box, etc.), and invite them to make what might be considered a coin collector or piggy bank. But explain that they are constructing a home for prayer requests, praises, or daily thoughts to lift up to God. Encourage students to use the prayer banks as a tool for thanks as well as request.


Introduce crafts: What was the rich young man lacking in? What did Jesus tell him to do? “Go, sell what you have, and give to [the] poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”

Make a treasure box and put inside it what you will sell and give to the poor (students can draw or cut pictures out of magazines). Put on the treasure box, “Go, sell what you have, and give to [the] poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.” Mark 10:21

Camel Game- Make 5 dice with the letters C A M E L on five of the sides (You can also spell N E E D L E as well using 6 dice). (Or you can use regular dice and put a sticker on each side and put the letters C A M E L or N E E D L E on five of the sides.)

Directions: Players take turns and roll the dice and try to spell the word CAMEL or NEEDLE using the dice. The first player that can, wins.

Similar to the popular TV game show “The Price is Right”, players try to guess the price of various items. Be sure to have items such as: family, friends, God, Jesus, fame, etc. A great game to teach about what’s really valuable in this world.



Introduce games: Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Mark 10:21

Play “Go Fish” but the rules differ. Whoever gives away all his cards first, wins the game.

I Love God Above All Things (Game)- is played with a deck of cards with pictures of various objects on them. The purpose of this game is see if you can "lose" all of your objects (cards) that you have valued over God.



Play “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” Game using questions from today’s lesson. Links to Powerpoint templates are here. The object of the game is to win and give all their money (or other prizes) away.

Ten Commandments Memory Game (Catholic)- Play Memory using these cards.

Ten Commandments In Order Game (Catholic)- Mix up cards and place them on a table face up. Students then put the commandments in the proper order lining them up from top to bottom. The first student that can put the commandment cards in the correct order wins. This game can be played individually or in teams.

Ten Commandments (Catholic) game- The objective of the game is to identify which one of the Ten Commandments the sin broke.
