Students can cut out the "good" apples and stick them on the tree. After rearranging the apples students can leave the "bad" apples in the foreground to represent rotten fruit that is unable to grow on a strong healthy tree. The fruit is an analogy for people's actions and will enable students to comprehend the notion of making decisions based on our conscience.

Verse Game- Write a verse from today’s lesson on strips of paper or card stock. Cut out strips and glue strips of the prayer in the proper order on a piece of construction paper. (For younger students you can do this together as a group activity.) You can also play this as a game by dividing the class into teams and give each team the strips of the prayer. See which team can put it in the proper order the fastest.

Introduce games: In Luke 6:43-45, Jesus is not giving us a standard by which we can judge others. To rightly apply what Jesus is saying, we must remember the context of His words. He is no longer is the section about our attitude toward others, but He is talking about our attitude toward ourselves. He is talking about taking the plank out of our own eyes first. Jesus is saying that my words reveal my heart. Your words reveal your heart. Not so much to others, but to you. Before you start making judgments about other people’s hearts based on their words, listen to your own words first.

Watch Ya' Mouth Ultimate Edition Game- The authentic mouthguard party game. Includes 200 cards with 4 new categories - ultimate phrases, rhyme time, head-to-head, pop culture. In this laughter-inducing, competitive card-based game, teams of players, hampered by cheek retractors, attempt to read and interpret/speak out phrases and…. Hilarity ensues!

What U Talkin Bout?- is the whacky word game where not getting your words out is all part of the fun. Just put in the special mouthpiece, pick a phrase card and read the tongue-twister. If your partner can stop laughing and guess what you're saying, you'll get the card. This family friendly version of the internet sensation includes mouthpieces for two adults and two kids plus 150 phrases that are suitable for children aged seven and over.

Introduce games: When Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks,” He meant that consistently sinful words and deeds are indicative of a sinful heart. Rather than always giving people “the benefit of the doubt,” we would do well to recognize the “fruit” we observe and respond accordingly. Being a “fruit inspector” does not mean we consider ourselves to be without sin; it does mean that we are realistic about whom to trust and whom we allow to exert influence over us and the people for whom we are responsible. So how well do you listen? How well do you understand the actions of others?

Introduce games: A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks. Luke 6:45
What does this mean? You’ve heard it said that you are what you eat. If that is true, it is more true that you are what you say. Your words reveal your heart. The things you say, and how you say them expose and unveil the condition and attitudes of your heart. I doubt most people realize this. If they did, they would be more careful about what they said and how they said it. Most people think actions reveal the heart. There is even a saying we have all heard: “Actions speak louder than words.” It is out of the overflow of the heart that the mouth speaks. It is the tongue that sets the body on fire. It is not what goes into a man that makes him unclean, but what comes out of him. So are you a good person? Let’s see how good you actually are.

The Catholic Toolbox- How RUDE!
Do you respect everyone and treat them kindly at all times? During our daily contact with others we can show compassion and generosity by treating them with respect and courtesy. This dignified and respectable behavior that we give to others is part of what Jesus was talking about. Try your best to treat others as you would like to be treated and you will find that it will help you so much in everyday life with getting along with others. This game is a fun and exciting way to review what is considered rude behavior in today’s society. Players or teams roll the dice and move that many spaces on the board. Whichever color is on the space you land on indicates the color card that will be used. The player to your left will read the card aloud to you and you will try to answer correctly. If you answer your question correctly, you may stay where you are. If you are not correct, everyone says, “How Rude!” and you move back to where you were. The first player or team to get to the “FINISH,” square first is the WINNER!

The Catholic Toolbox- 2 games about making the right decisions.
WWJD- Making the right decisions in life is hard to do, but if you let Jesus be your guide and think, “What Would Jesus Do?” it will make it a lot easier.

Moral Dilemmas Card Game- Why do problems come into our life? People face problems every day. Some are harder than others. There are many choices that the person can have to solve his/her problem, but which one is the best? What would Jesus want us to do?
