God Made the World- The Humongous Book of Preschool Ideas by Group Publishing, page 7 - 9. Read story for day 1 and 2. Use Creation Cards to help the children remember what happened for day one and two.
1. What did God make the first day? Light 2. What did God make the second day? Sky
Songs and/or Finger Plays:
Introduce songs and/or finger plays: Who created heaven and the earth? God
Introduce craft: What did God make the second day? The sky. We are going to make a sky as well.
Need: White crayons, blue watercolor paint.
Directions: Have students draw clouds with the white crayon and color white. Then have the students paint the blue watercolor paint over the clouds that they drew. The wax in the crayon will not allow the paint to cover the white clouds. This makes a realistic sky.
Make a cloud mobile. Cut out blue construction paper in assorted cloud shapes. Glue white cotton balls onto the paper. Let glue dry and string the clouds together to form a mobile. String up by your bed with a pretty ribbon.
Make puffy clouds. Cut the same two cloud shapes out of fingerpaint paper. Glue shut around the edges except for a small opening. Stuff it with toilet paper. Seal it up with glue. Dry and hang.
