Have students make up their own game about Saint Francis of Assisi and play it.


Introduce games: What was Saint Francis a patron saint of ? Animals

Play a tape of animal sounds and have the students guess what animal it is.


What animal is it?

Need: Cards with animal pictures on them.

Directions: A student draws a card and then makes the animal sound it makes. The other students guess what the animal is.


Saint Francis ABC Game

This is a memory game. Have the players seated in a circle. The first player begins by saying, "St. Assisi went he saw many things. He saw a ..........." He can say any animal they like that starts with the letter A. The next player in line begins the same way but adds a second animal after repeating the first. For example "ape, bat,." (You could also help the player if necessary so everyone can play).. So it goes on, but if a player can’t repeat or mixes up the order of the objects then he is out. If you haven't got many players, the same children can keep adding more animals.
